A Bucket List Muskox hunt in the Canadian Arctic. My Customer ordered a knife specifically for this trip, and I had just the knife for him! My Horsfield Knife was used by the Inuit Guides to process the entire animal without needing to sharpen it. This included separating the joints and head from the carcass.

The animal was 85 km from camp and they got caught in a blizzard at -30 below zero. The meat was harvested and an indigenous Ceremony of Thanks was completed, which involved singing and dancing on the hide.

The Ricasso has a hammered finish and the handle is a full tang Dyed Curly Manitoba Maple with Red Epoxy and Copper pins.

I’ve added some thumb and finger jimping on the spine for added grip and precision cuts. It has enough of a belly to skin, but pointed enough to break the hide and get into those tight spots around the hide quarters.

The red oak in this handle has had 4️⃣ lives. It was a church bench for 100 years; made into a charcuterie board in 2015 for my Customer’s wedding. And is now a knife handle!
