BEHIND THE BLADE
KODY HORSFIELD

About the Maker
Kody Horsfield grew up in Huntsville before relocating to North Bay in 2018. He has been a lifelong outdoorsman who enjoys spending his free time hunting and fishing.
In 2018, Kody built his first forge and began to experiment with creating knives out of reclaimed materials such as railroad spikes, lawnmower blades and wrenches. Over time Kody finessed his skills and started making functional custom high carbon steel with quality handle materials for friends and family.
Since then Kody has expanded his business and is now creating unique knives for cooking, hunting, and everyday use.
About the Knives
Horsfield Knives is built on creating strong and dependable handcrafted knives that are practical and reliable. Each knife has been hand designed and crafted from high carbon steel materials. In the process, the knife is forged, hardened and tempered in temperatures upwards of 2000 F. Time is spent meticulously grinding profiles, bevels and edges to the desired finish before preparing the handle material. The handles are made from unique hardwoods and are ergonomically shaped for comfort and practicality. Leather sheaths are made from scratch, starting with a tanned cowhide shoulder. The sheaths are designed and styled to fit each knife and hand stitched with waxed thread.
